Album Review "Midnight Syndicate's Christmas-A Ghostly Gathering" Written by Luna Moon

For many of us from the Horror Genre, the Holidays can be overkill with saccharine-sweet decorations, Holly Jolly Santa Clauses and that “Elf on a Shelf” thing you can’t help, but place in compromising positions, just to piss off your Mother. How many times can we possibly hear “Jingle Bells” until our ear canals bleed? Not to mention the repetitive showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Don’t lie…you’ve made it a drinking game too. (Take a shot, every time an Angel gets its wings…and Comcast plays that frigging movie!)
We, the Horror Genre, celebrate a little differently. Normally, copious amounts of booze are consumed while we watch “Santa’s Slay”, build obscene snowmen and bake”Ginger Dead Men” Cookies. It’s not much, but it makes our little black hearts happy.
But darlings…what about Holiday Music? Finally Boys & Ghouls, we have a Holiday Album that will wake the dead.
Midnight Syndicate s “Christmas-A Ghostly Gathering” is a must have for the Howlidays. A creative collaboration by Edward Douglas & Gavin Gozka that includes both Gothic arrangements of Christmas favorites as well as new horror holiday classics. The music has a dark, melodious yuletide feel with deep Eastern European undertones of an Old World Christmas. “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” (Douglas) and “Carol of the Bells (Gozka) are two tracks of particular interest to bring out your inner Krampus.
Midnight Syndicate’s talent as versatile musicians is showcased within this album. Christmas-A Ghostly Gathering” has a Gothic magic that will create a Hauntingly Beautiful Holiday for everyone.
