Artist, Illustrator Angela Maria Azmitia

Angela Maria Azmitia (b. 1990, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) looks to their shared Latin and southern heritage, cultural stereotypes, and personal history to create work that questions memory and lived experience.

The artist received a degree in Studio Art from the University of South Florida (2013), and an M.F.A. in Printmedia from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2018).

In 2009 she was based in New York City, studying Illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

The artist lives and works in Chicago.
