Born out of frustration with being seated in the back of a restaurant because we looked too “Goth” (aka “weird”) – we decided to share Goth-friendly locations and events in Chicago and eventually worldwide online. The scene has grown – Goth is in the malls, Cosplay is all the rage and the world is a little smaller (and more wonderful) due to social media. To celebrate 20 years of spooky stuff for spooky people, this 46 page, full colour book shares highlights from 1996-2016.
I’m MY PET SKELETON. Weird name eh? Fifteen years ago, I put a lot of thought into creating an attention grabbing title to showcase my work as a graphic designer, music video director and fine artist. It worked so well that it has officially overshadowed my real name… Vincent Marcone.
I’m him. I’m them. I’m both.
I’ve spent 15 years developing a style and aesthetic that feels natural to whom I am. With every picture I create, I try to convey a sense of story by using the bits and pieces of what I can remember from my dreams which have developed into a kind of personal folklore.
I’ve created this space so that my work can be accessible to everyone. Directly from me to you.
If you can afford an album or graphic novel, there’s a price point here to suit you… on the other hand, if you are an avid collector of limited edition prints or even originals… there’s space for you here as well.
It’s been 15 years since his first memoir but Bruce is still living the dream as a “B” movie king in an “A” movie world.
Join us for an evening with “Evil Dead” and “Burn Notice” star Bruce Campbell! All attendees will play the “Last Fan Standing” interactive live trivia game hosted by Bruce, and all attendees will recieve a signed copy of Bruce’s new book, Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B Movie Actor.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available, for those wanting to meet Bruce, get a photo, and have a signed, personalized copy of the new book! VIP ticket holders will get the best seats, too!
In Hail to the Chin, Bruce Campbell makes his triumphant return from where he left off in If Chins Could Kill with further hilarious, gut-wrenchingly honest confessions.
Bruce brings us through his life in the decade since his first memoir and his roles as varied as they are numerous- from his roles in the Spider-Man movies to his self-referential My Name is Bruce to his role on #1 show “Burn Notice” and his new STARZ hit series “Ash vs Evil Dead.”
Hail to the Chin bursts with pictures and the signature humor that Bruce brought to If Chins Could Kill, and will be devoured by his legions of fans across the country.
FAQs
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking can be tricky, if possible we recommend taking the Red Line (Addison Stop), Brown Line (Southport stop), or the Irving Park, Addison, or Clark Street buses.
Southport is a metered parking street. Free street parking is available on and west of Ashland Ave (two blocks west of the theatre) and north of Irving Park. There is a parking lot at nearby Blaine Elementary and valet parking at the Mercury Theatre and Deleece Restaurant.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please do bring a printed ticket–it makes things much easier on us all!

John Waters, the acclaimed director and pop icon behind Hairspray, Pink Flamingos, and Cry-Baby, injects chaos into his work and encourages more of it in everyday life. In his latest book, Make Trouble, Waters uses his sly wisdom to advise a younger generation to be nosy and horrify us with new ideas—but he also urges anyone embarking on a creative path to be pragmatic and disciplined. Chicago Tribune theater critic Chris Jones joins Waters in conversation as he shares his guidelines and reveals the truths of a subversive life as few others can.
Ticket purchase includes a copy of Make Trouble. An option for 1 book + 2 tickets is available through the box office at (312) 494-9509.
