~* This is a “goth takeover” so invite your friends! *~
Welcome one and all to the THIRD annual goth takeover of the Bristol Pleasure Faire! This event is taking place on Saturday, August 26th. The Farie opens at 10am so feel free to come early, and it closes at 7pm. I will be waiting at the gates at 2pm for about twenty minutes to try and get a group together, however feel free to text or post on this event as you arrive so we can all meet up. (your network coverage may vary, I tend to have issues getting a signal)
Tickets at the gate are $25.95 and can also be purchased online, or at Walgreen’s which usually has them on sale for several dollars cheaper. If you find any online discount codes or sales, please post them here!
Finally, invite your friends, and use this page to make plans for carpools, meetups, and group photos. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends! Based on past experiences, goths show up throughout the day and often are too shy to come up and say hi to a group, many of us are socially awkward or anxious, so feel free to grab some alcohol and come be awkward with the rest of us.
You can find more information on the website: http://www.renfair.com/bristol/
Tips:
-Expect it to be as hot as satans butthole. Bring spf 666, perhaps a parasol, and dress accordingly. We may get lucky and have an overcast day, but prepare for the worst.
-Bring plenty of spending money as the ATM’s will charge a fee. Most of the regular venders take cards, but many still do not. The Faire does not allow outside food or drink.
-Have a look at the faire schedule: I have listed a few of my favorite events bellow, but there are all kinds of plays, performers, bands, comedians and more happening so you may want to plan ahead if you’ve never been.
-There are two parking lots, one is $5, and a little further down the road is free parking, free parking requires a bit of a longer walk. The later in the day you arrive, the more likely there will be a long line of cars to get in, so be prepared to sit in your car for some time before getting in. (plan your toilet breaks accordingly)
-Getting a group of goths to stay together is a bit like herding cats, so feel free to get together in smaller groups, but don’t be afraid to socialize! The farie is fun, but this will be a great opportunity to make new friends, and meet people you’ve only talked to online.
Notable Events:
-The Pub Crawl: My favorite event, this happens three times a day (12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.) it is $35 and sells out quickly. You will visit 4 pubs, getting a drink at each, and play games while hearing profane and sexually explicit jokes. If you win any of the games you win an extra drink!
-The Final Joust: I believe generally takes place around 5:30, there are several jousts throughout the day, but the final joust is too the death. Blood will spurt and screams of anguish will be heard!
– The Danse Macabre: As the characters in the allegory of the Danse come from all walks of life, the performers of the Danse are drawn from across all of Bristol’s participants. Weather permitting, the mysterious and elusive Danse Macabre will arise near the end of the faire day for a performance that must be seen to be believed.
-2 Merry Men 7 Deadly Sins: Spin the “Wheel of Sin” and join Robin Hood and Little John as they sing you all the songs that you love so well. Twisted comedy and music, definitely not for the kiddies. Laugh and sing along with songs of burning pubs, dock side floozies, and yes…even a song about Moose. Just remember, what happens in the woods…STAYS in the woods!
These are just a few of my favorites, but there is all kinds of entertainment to be had so be sure to check the website or pick up a schedule when you get to the Faire.

Why do you want to go? The largest gathering of goth clubs and acts in one historic church, right smack in the middle of the US, of course!
AUGUST 13th 2017
4pm – 2am
Denver, CO
Located in the historic Church of the Seven Candles, built in 1865, we are proud to announce the first years line up!
We are gathering some of the best Gothic and Deathrock clubs from all around the US, and having them all in three rooms, for one long night of blasphemy!
DAVID J – From the better than well known Bauhaus & Love and Rockets will perform a special DJ set sure to make you swoon and dance
LIVE PERFORMANCES BY:
LUCAS LANTHIER (Cinema Strange) – Lucas Lanthier first began entertaining audiences in the late ’80s with post-industrial experimental act Mr. Them and the Granite Slab. Later, he helped evolve California deathrock with the now somewhat legendary CINEMA STRANGE. Later still, he helped evolve community musical theater with the always surprising Deadfly Ensemble. Blending material from his various projects, Lanthier continues a manic dissipation, dispensing melodic lore and foreboding to his international acolytes. To behold this titan of turpitude in the throes of his distemper is to witness a miraculous confluence of songcraft, lip gloss and desolation.
THE BRICKBATS – NYC – 22 years and counting, however, these guys don’t crawl out of the crypts often, so don’t miss out on the chance to miss the insanity of one of the greatest “undead rock n’ roll” bands to come from the NY underground!
TRAGIC BLACK – SLC – Over 17 years of pushing Deathrock and Goth down the throats of the world, we are excited to host these ghouls at SPIRITUAL CRAMP.
ECHO BEDS – DENVER – Rarely do you get a chance to see a band that has created their own sound and stage show, see the Echo Beds in the one spot they absolutely belong…under the roof of gods house.
THE PIRATE TWINS – SCARY LADY SARAH &a WILLIAM FAITH
WILLIAM FAITH- An artist with a career spanning 28 years. Currently fronting Chicago’s dark alternative darlings The Bellwether Syndicate, with partner “Scary Lady” Sarah Rose, he is known primarily in goth circles for his work in Faith and the Muse, with his history as a member of seminal bands such as Christian Death, Shadow Project, Mephisto Walz, March Violets and Sex Gang Children providing ample goth cred.
SCARY LADY SARAH – Chicago – club Nocturna is now in its 29th year! She has DJ’d all over North America and Europe, being a staple at Whitby Gothic Weekend in the U.K., Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) in Germany, and many more as well.
RELEASE THE BATS – The infamous California Deathrock club that changed the world! Original Deathrock, Gothic and Alternative, spun by resident Doom Jockeys Dave Bats, Jenn Bats, and Reanimator!
DJ MALEFIC – MEMENTO MORI – Get the chance to dance in this trad goth N.Y.C. Club amongst the holy walls of the Seven Candles as DJ Malefic brings you all the spook you can handle!
WAKE THE DEAD- These Radio Scarlet members bring Denver their loudest and creepiest old school Gothic and Deathrock extravaganza, with resident DJs Mr & Mrs HoodBats and JunkYard, transforming their space into something out of Nick Fiends wet dreams!
DJ RICKBATS – From San Antonio, RickBats has been dj’ing consistently in the Goth scene since 2000. Past residencies include Synthetic Void, Skeleton Danse, Nox, Stitches, Decayed Lace radio show and most recently Dark Entries and 1313. Notable guest spots include Saturnalia, Convergence, Dracula’s Ball, Drop Dead, Back To The Grave, San La Muerte and Wave Gotik Treffen.
DAVEY BONES – THE HANGING GARDEN – Long time San Francisco DJ, Radio Host, Musician and Promoter, Davey Bones will curate an atmosphere of true damnation!
BOYHOLLOW
Boyhollow is an old goth that plays music for hipsters, indie-rockers, bass-heads, gays, party kids, gender-crushers, meat-heads, woo girls and even the occasional hippie. He doesn’t believe in writing bios containing a bunch of cliches about what an awesome DJ he is. He’d rather be making you dance.
He is co-founder of Lipgloss (est. 2001), Denver’s longest running and most awarded club-night. Lipgloss was instrumental in – if not arguably responsible for – creating Denver’s indie dance scene.
He has worked with, performed at and produced parties with some of music’s biggest names, including, but not limited to New Order, Devo, Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce (The Smiths) and many more that have fallen into the drunken haze of time.
DJ ROLAND – Longtime Denver DJ Roland, spinning at multiple clubs since 2002. Roland plays everything from Industrial to electroclash, from death rock to EBM.
DJ SLAVE1 – Denver based DJ specializing in Industrial/EBM/Darkwave/Synthpop/Electro & other stompy-shake-your-ass-beats! Slave1 has been one of the DJ pillars of the dark alternative music scene for over 17 years with an immense resume that covers almost every Denver nightclub past & present!
DJ MATTE BLACK AND BATBOY- Founders of the Colorado Goth Fest in Colorado Springs, and long time DJs at the Zodiac, Batboy brings you the best in horror punk, deathrock, and goth, while Matte Black turns it around and whoops you in classic and new industrial, EBM and goth.
MUDWULF – Agent of chaos, purveyor of dark infectious dance groves, and a friendly underground atmosphere.

Born out of frustration with being seated in the back of a restaurant because we looked too “Goth” (aka “weird”) – we decided to share Goth-friendly locations and events in Chicago and eventually worldwide online. The scene has grown – Goth is in the malls, Cosplay is all the rage and the world is a little smaller (and more wonderful) due to social media. To celebrate 20 years of spooky stuff for spooky people, this 46 page, full colour book shares highlights from 1996-2016.
Welcome to Grim Manor Gallery,
a darker Haunted Mansion tribute exhibit!
Curated by artist Vidvad Scare (Mad Monster gallery and Scary stories to tell in the art) and artist Daniel Kranz
Let us take a haunted trail back into the caliginous whimsy of what the Haunted Mansion could have been, a museum of the weird, with more time period phantoms, creatures of the night, victorian apparitions and graveyard ghouls. Gripping closely to the works of Marc Davis and other artist’s original vision of the Mansion. We present to you a very strong imaginative cohesion and collection of artists that not only stimulates but enlightens with creativity, and gives you that much needed jarring spark when engaging with art, let‘s see the mansion that could have been and is today… Let’s step into the darker corridors of the mansion, and find the Grim Manor gallery.
