Having the opportunity to travel is wonderful and when we were in London all of our spooky friends showed us a great time! Including a night at the infamous Slimelight for New Years Eve! I think we need to go back, it has been waaaaay too long 🙂

Convergence started here in Chicago! It is an annual goth music festival that travels around the world. And it is so much fun! We met lifelong friends (like Zoe + Stewart from England xoxo), saw awesome live bands and explored what the host city had to offer. This was our first Convergence outside of Chicago and we fell in love with Toronto 🙂 Were you there too?

My #SpookyInc20 memory is when I first met Voltaire in 2005! For whatever reason, my schedule and his performance schedule never worked until then. I kept hearing about how great his live shows are and was thrilled when he came through Chicago. Charming, clever and talented! If you aren’t familiar with him, go now to Voltaire.net – listen to his music, buy his merch and check out his latest project “Gothic Homemaking” on YouTube! I guarantee you will become an instant fan 🙂

James “Midge” Ure, OBE (born 10 October 1953) is a Scottish singer, musician, songwriter and producer. His stage name, Midge, is a phonetic reversal of Jim, the diminutive form of his given name.
Ure enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and most notably as frontman of Ultravox. In 1984 Ure co-wrote and produced the charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second highest selling single in UK chart history. Ure co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. Ure acts as trustee for the charity, and serves as ambassador for Save the Children.
In 1985 Ure’s solo debut album The Gift, which reached number two in the UK Albums Chart, included the UK number one single “If I Was”. Ure has had four other UK top-30 solo hit singles: “No Regrets”, “That Certain Smile”, “Call of the Wild” and “Cold, Cold Heart”.
Scary Lady Sarah passionately enjoys & promotes good, new, dark alternative music. She DJs, book bands & produces club events & has been doing so for nearly 30 years. She absolutely loves what she does and treats her occupation like the great fortune that it is. She loves new music and endeavours to play as much of it as she can, all the while keeping in mind and paying respect to the song requests of her events’ patrons.
