Dracula Clothing
About:
I started DraculaClothing in 2007, I had walked around in Camden and didn’t find anything I wanted. The few things that I liked were very expensive. I had traveled around in India and knew they have some tailors that are the best in the world. So I decided to make a shop that has tailor made clothes at a more reasonable price.
We have some tailors now that are very dedicated and love what they are doing. The quality of what they make is the best I have ever seen. We’ve been collaborating with the same tailors for 17 years, maintaining close relationships and meeting regularly. These are well-paid, high-status positions taken by experienced, middle-aged tailors.
Our goal is to make timeless clothing and be super slow fashion. We send the clothing from our tailors on trains or by sea in containers to keep items affordable and cut down on the carbon emission. It takes 1 year from me designing an item until we have it here, so instead of focusing on trends we focus on clothing that you will wear for many years. I believe that the best way to make sustainable fashion is to make clothing that does not end up in the garbage.
We started doing this for fun and because we are alternative style addicts;-) We thought we would sell mostly to our friends and some random people, but have ended up selling a lot more than we thought. We bought an old hops storage in Zatec in Czechia that serves as our headquarters, storage, and creative hub. The building is now a Unesco world Heritage building.
