AUG 24 – Goth Takeover: Bristol Renaissance Faire (WI)
Welcome one and all to the FIFTH annual goth takeover of the Bristol Pleasure Faire hosted by Cemetery Confessions: A Goth Talk Podcast!
This event is taking place on Saturday, August 24th. The Faire opens at 10am and closes at 7pm. Feel free to come early, I will be waiting just inside the gates around 2pm for about twenty minutes to try and get a group together. If you miss us, don’t worry, feel free to post on this event as you arrive so we can all meet up, and if you see another goth, go say hello!
Tickets at the gate are $25.95 and can also be purchased online, or at Menard’s which usually has them on sale for several dollars cheaper. If you find any online discount codes or sales, please post them here!
Finally, invite your friends and use this page to make plans for carpools, meetups, and group photos. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and and chat with that one person you always see out at clubs but haven’t said hi to. Based on past experiences, goths show up throughout the day and often are too shy to come up and say hi to a group, many of us are socially awkward or anxious, so feel free to grab some alcohol and come be awkward with the rest of us.

Tips:
-Expect it to be as hot as satan’s butthole. Bring spf 666, perhaps a parasol, and dress accordingly. We may get lucky and have an overcast day, but prepare for the worst.
-Bring plenty of spending money as the ATM’s will charge a fee. Most of the regular vendors take cards, but many still do not. The Faire does not allow outside food or drink.
-Have a look at the faire schedule: there are all kinds of plays, performers, bands, comedians and more happening so you may want to plan ahead if you’ve never been.
-There are two parking lots, one is $5, and a little further down the road is free parking, free parking requires a bit of a longer walk. The later in the day you arrive, the more likely there will be a long line of cars to get in, so be prepared to sit in your car for some time before getting in. (plan your toilet breaks accordingly)
-Getting a group of goths to stay together is a bit like herding cats, so feel free to get together in smaller groups, but don’t be afraid to socialize! The faire is fun, but this will be a great opportunity to make new friends, and meet people you’ve only talked to online.
