Dia de los Muertos: Journey of the Soul – September23-December 11
Chicago’s National Museum of Mexican Art hosts the largest Day of the Dead exhibition in the U.S., with ofrendas, or altars, by dozens of folk artists honoring their ancestors with paintings, masks, dolls, sugar sculptures, and cut-paper displays. This year’s celebration features an installation by Sandra Cisneros, the author of House on Mango Street, in tribute to her mother.
